ACRONYM clothing is about as utilitarian as it gets, putting function first, but always managing to look amazing as well. So it comes as no surprise that the Berlin-based label’s sneaker collaborations with Nike follow in the same vein.
The recently released ACRONYM x Nike Air Presto Mid features mid-top ankle support, premium leather detailing, and two zips that run down the sides of the heel. ACRONYM’s Errolson Hugh evidently paid close attention to detail when designing the sneakers, however, it wasn’t immediately clear just how much — until now.
In a thread posted to Reddit’s sneakers subreddit, a user pointed out that the zippers — which a lot of sneakerheads were complaining kept unzipping on its own — actually has locking capabilities.
The zipper can be locked in place by pushing the slider pull tab against the chain. This allows you to toggle the zipper to your preference of choice, without it coming unzipped. Pull the slider pull tab upwards and perpendicular to the chain, and the slider moves again.
Some Reddit users claimed to have known about this function all along, while others appreciated the new pro-tip.
