Design firm Breathe Architecture in Melbourne has transformed the former Australian headquarters of Paramount Picture Studios into an amazing boutique hotel aptly dubbed, Paramount House Hotel.

In case you didn't see it – Paramount House Hotel was featured on Dezeen earlier this week. Brought to you by hospitality lords Russell Beard and Ping Jin Ng who are responsible for Rueben Hills café and roastery and Paramount Coffee Project, along with Mark Dundon creator of Melbourne’s beloved coffee roaster Seven Seeds, the renovation took four years to complete, and the most striking element on the establishment is located on the top two floors, which have been architecturally engineered behind a copper chevron that offers both shade and privacy, as well as its aesthetically pleasing element.

The hotel features 29 rooms and boast an atrium-style lobby blending heritage details with modern elements. Each room has its own sense of personality, while all are dressed with French linen sheets, Aesop amenities, Seljak wool blankets and artwork curated by local gallery China Heights. In particular, guests can choose from Everyday or Sunny rooms, as well as lofts and two spacious Mack Daddy suites. The lofts feature floor to ceiling glass windows and beds hovering above lounges via a mezzanine level.

Other design details include restored ceilings, windows and brick walls complemented by fresh timber floors and terrazzo-tiled bathrooms, along with the addition of indoor and outdoor plants in all rooms.

Furthermore, one of the other notable features is the hotel reception desk incorporating a copper bar draft beer system that serve an ever-changing range of beers, natural wines and soft drinks to guests for free when they check in.

With rooms starting at $240 AUD or approx. $178 USD, you can view more information about the hotel and booking details by visiting the Paramount House Hotel website.
