Palace drops normally sell out in an instant but a certain item is curiously still in stock – despite being one of the cheapest. The London label included a bag for life as part of its Spring 2018 collection which costs less than $13. As seen above, the white shopper features the globally recognized recycling symbol, serving as a play on Palace’s own “Tri-Ferg” logo.
While this particular item may not be a go-to purchase for Palace fans, recent seasonal streetwear trends have proven the shopper bag is back in a big way. IKEA’s famous blue FRAKTA became a regular fixture among street style shots before Balenciaga launched its own version, following it up with German supermarket-inspired ones.
Admittedly these types of bags provide much-needed humor in high fashion, but the luxury shoppers were at best gimmicks that only served a select few with a lot of disposable income. With its effort, Palace has recognized that a bag for life isn’t a trend, it’s a staple – and an easily styled one at that.
With no gimmicks or rip-offs in sight, Palace’s simple, white bag for life is an investment purchase that won’t break the bank.
