Back in February, the world was introduced to Lil Miquela, a virtual avatar that only exists online and is most notably fashion’s first virtual Instagram influencer.

Since her creation two years ago, the 19-year-old Brazilian model and musical artist has already garnered more than a million Instagram followers, proving to be a successful social experiment, and even sparking a debate about what makes a persona “real” online.

Now, New York Magazine‘s women-inclined fashion publication The Cut, wondered if they could create their very own version of Lil Miquela.

In the two-minute clip above, the brand tapped their in-house motion graphic artist, with no experience in character design, to construct another AI model with the same visual aesthetic of Miquela.

By taking it step by step from building a default character, aligning geometric features via references, to applying texture, clothing, and more, it only took 48 hours to complete the creation.

What are your thoughts on their version of Lil Miquela? Sound off in the comments below.
