Renowned radio host Angie Martinez recently sat down with rapper J. Cole for a 90-minute interview, and it was recorded at the studio/house of producer Salaam Remi in Miami, Florida just before Cole took the stage at Rolling Loud with a headlining set.
The two delve on a variety of topics ranging from Kanye West, the new “Lil” rappers that have become popular in hip-hop, to discussing meditation, as well as how he differs from other artists, and much more.
Interestingly, around the 11-minute mark, Cole shared, “I’m a dangerous interview because it’s hard for me to lie, I just can’t lie. Not only is it hard for me to lie, it’s hard for me to not go in on the whole truth. Once I tell you something, I gotta make sure you know exactly what I’m talking about and give you the full perspective.”
Enjoy the full interview above, and in case you missed it, the North Carolina native just announced a North American tour for his newest album, KOD with special guest Young Thug.
