After spray-painting a Rockaways building destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in New York, German artist Katharina Grosse has been commissioned to create a monumental installation in response to the unique industrial architecture and scale of Carriageworks, a contemporary multi-arts center located in Sydney.

Titled “The Horse Trotted Another Couple of Metres, Then It Stopped,” Grosse’s work consist of more than 8,000 square meters of vibrantly colored suspended fabric that is draped, knotted and hung through the architectural elements of the building.
