You should vacation in California! And why not? There is so much to do! Whether you relax on the beach, hike through the Redwoods, or crave the bright lights of Hollywood, there’s really something for everyone. They don’t call it the Best Coast for nothing, so why not take some time off and spend some days finding out exactly why?
You should vacation in Nevada! The beautiful state just legalized the rose-colored glasses that will make the sprawling deserts even prettier to look at than before. Reno, Red Rock Canyon, Las Vegas… I mean, can you even imagine how much more fun Vegas will be with legalized marijuana? Viva Las Vegas!
You should vacation in Massachusetts! Yes, you may not be aware of the state’s beauty, but any native New Englander knows that it’s *the* place to be come summertime. Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket… these are some of the happiest little towns on the Atlantic filled with scene, sprawling views of the sea. If beach and island life aren’t your thing, there’s always the revolutionary city of Boston
to keep you busy, or Sturbridge Village and Salem if you want to go back in time! North Hampton has some of the best vibes around, and the magic of Provincetown simply cannot be matched. You never knew it, but Massachusetts is your dram vacay!
You should vacation in Colorado! Hit up the state capital of Denver, the mile-high city (heh heh) to get your fill of art, cafes, science museums, and all of your city-like needs. Where else can you see your favorite band play in the middle of the red rocks?! Enjoy Vail and Aspen and get your skiing or snowboarding on. For a blast of nature, go hiking in the mountains of Boulder, or travel through one of our nation’s most precious parks, Rocky Mountain National Park.
You should vacation in Washington state! Are you looking to spend time in the great outdoors? Well, look no further. Olympic and Mount Rainer National Parks are both gorgeous in their own ways. Need to relax? Hit the vineyards of Walla Walla. Go whale-watching in Port Angeles, the San Juan Islands, or the Orcas. Hike through the rainforests of Forks or relax in the waterfalls of Spokane. And for your city (and caffeine!) fix, there’s obviously the simply swell city of Seattle.
You should vacation in Oregon! And why not? It’s a beautiful state with a little bit of everything. Start in Portland, of course, and see all that the unique city has to offer in terms of culture, food, shops, and microbreweries. (See what’s true about Portlandia and what’s not!) Stare at the beauty that is Mount Hood. Hit Cannon Beach or any of the coastline of Newport, Bandon, or seaside. Go windsurfing in Hood River. Hit the vineyards of Willamette Valley. Visit the parks of Silver Falls, Crater Lake, Camp Lookout and Carl G. Washburn Memorial State Park. No matter what you need, Oregon most likely has it for you.
You should vacation in Maine! Ah, yes: our northernmost point in the continental United States. Take a walk down Maine’s rocky coastline or spend some time making your way through one of our nation’s most beautiful national parks, Acadia. After you’ve reconnected with nature you can hang out in downtown Portland and soak up the culture. There’s a reason Maine is literally “on top,” and you should book a trip to find out why!

You should vacation in Washington D.C.! What isn’t there to do in our nation’s capital? First of all, you can take a tour through America’s actual history ~in the flesh~ by visiting the Washington Monument, National Mall, Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and State Capitol. Take a tour of the White House and see how it really goes down on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Do you love museums? Welcome to your paradise: the National Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian Institution, the National Air and Space Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, Newseum, the recently-opened National Museum of African American History and Culture…. there are too many to list, and so many are free! Stroll through many of the beautiful parks downtown, especially if you’re there in the spring with the Cherry Blossoms. With so much to do and so much to see, you’ll never be bored — and just might learn a few new things while you’re in town!
